AFA Tribute
The Night
You don’t fully appreciate how difficult Queen’s music is until you dive into learning it.
Each member of the band was a master musician, and recreating their sound was one of Arctic Clam’s most ambitious challenges yet.
Joined by backup vocalists Chad Ackerman and Amber Wilkes, the tribute opened exactly as Queen did at Live Aid—with “Bohemian Rhapsody” leading directly into “Radio Ga Ga.”
Nicole embraced Freddie Mercury’s legendary stage presence with multiple costume changes, beginning with the iconic white tank top and Adidas sneakers before finishing in the unmistakable yellow military jacket.
The biggest surprise came at the end of the set when the band unexpectedly returned to the operatic section of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The crowd didn’t miss a beat, singing every word as thousands of voices became part of the performance.
Even Wayne and Garth made an appearance, courtesy of Cari Langenderfer and Megan Lesle of the Amelia Airharts.
