The J. Geils Band

After taking a “tribute” break in 2021 due to the pandemic, Arctic Clam returned with something fun, unexpected, and guaranteed to make people smile.

Moving from three legendary British rock acts to Boston’s own J. Geils Band was a surprising choice, but it proved to be brilliant. Original bassist Stevie Knurek returned to join the performance while Jay shifted to lead guitar. A full horn section powered through the band’s biggest hits, and special guest Nate Khoury—Nicole’s father—channeled the spirit of harmonica legend Magic Dick throughout the set.

The most memorable moment, however, happened before the music even began. Just one month earlier, Nate had suffered a heart attack. Despite doctors urging him to take it easy, he was determined to be on that stage on March 6, 2022. He set a goal, worked tirelessly toward it, and delivered an unforgettable performance.
